    Borax.
I usually just sweep them all out and wash where they were to get rid of the scent trails that they had put down.

Terro ant baits work the best. The are in an orange box or packaging. If you don’t want to pay the price, then just mix up some borax and corn syrup or sugar and that will work just fine. Put the traps or bait in a spot that animals won’t get to and that you won’t mind seeing hundreds of swarming ant at. It will get overwhelmed with ants at first and they will take it back to the nest and the queen will die and then all the ants will disappear. Good luck!

Skin so soft from avon works great if you know where they are getting in. example: kitchen window.. I rubbed across the window ledge once. They never came back.
Also true fact.. ants wont cross a caulk line.

Here is a cheap and easy fix…buy some 20 Mule Team laundry soap, put into one of the ketchup bottles that you can pick up at most dollar stores, snip the tip of the ketchup bottle off and make the hole a little larger, put the laundry soap in the bottle and apply around baseboards and under vanities and leave it lay for a few days until you no longer see any signs of the ants, vacuum up the excess laundry soap and use the rest of the box to do your laundry. The ants will carry the laundry soap back to their nest and it will kill them…Good luck.

Besides using the standard chemical-killing or keeping them away stuff, you can actually mix 50/50 water and vinegar and spray where you see the ant’s locations, or sprinkle black pepper, or equal parts of Windex and Ivory soap, or mix red chili peper with water into a paste and paste the area. These solutions will either kill them or keep them from coming back. =) I hope it helps you.

    ANT BAIT
You’ll find it effective, but be patient — it may take a week to 10 days to be fully effective.
In the meantime kill ants in the house with Windex or another ammonia-based cleaner. Clean and kill, all in one motion.
    Recipe:
1 part 20 Mule Team Borax or Boric acid
9 parts of a sweet sticky liquid like maple syrup, honey or Karo syrup
Mix the ingredients. Heating in a double boiler may speed the process. Take an empty margarine tub and poke 4 holes around the bottom edge (entry holes for ants to walk in).
Place a dollop the size of a quarter in the middle of the tub, then put the top back on. This mixture is not non-toxic, however it is less toxic, and that’s the key to its success.
The ants carry it back to the nest where they feed it to the entire colony and wipe out the nest.

Ants are tough. Best way I have found and is totally safe is mix icing sugar and baking soda together 50/50 mix. You only need a teaspoon of each. Mix the dry powders together. Then spread it on their trails or where you see them. The ants will discover the new food source and take it back to the nest. Icing sugar and baking powder……I guess that can’t make a determination on the BP and once it is in the nest, I guess the queen gets to eat it and some chemical reactions happen and perhaps she blows up. May take a week or two….but the nest is no more. And this stuff is safe around animals as they really can’t smell it…and if they eat it, nothing.

home depot they have ant traps can not think of brand name they come in a package just set them around leave them set for a few months they work i use them when i need to

  • garden man2 says:

there are some really good baits on the market–place these around the baseboard edging of the room they will feed take the bait back to the colony and die. If this is to slow use a pyrethoid which will kill the crawling ones.
